Nevada Retirement and Vacation Rentals
Retirees who have been previously flocking to Florida but cannot stand the humidity are now choosing retirement havens and vacation rentals in Nevada. There are many age-restricted communities that have sprouted in Henderson, Las Vegas. These areas offer lots of amenities, fairways and golf courses and the Sin City sparkling lights just 15 minutes away.
Old couples were reportedly delighted with Nevada vacation rentals because there are hospitals and universities nearby and the new neighbourhoods still sparkles with their newness. In addition, shows in Las Vegas and gourmet restaurants as well as diners offering all-American meals are just a few minutes away.
The retirement havens are now resort destinations, university towns and suburban satellites of major cities. Vacation rentals are sprouting to support the growing population and the people who go out to visit. Aside from Nevada, regions like the Texas Hill Country, the Pacific Northwest and the Ozarks are attracting retirees to settle or just take vacations.
Amongst all the American states, Nevada showed the largest increase in new settlers 65 years and older between 1990 and 2000. Populations of people more than 65 years old showed double-digit growth rates in Phoenix, Denver, Las Cruces and San Antonio during the 1990s. Not only have retirement houses sprung up, vacation rentals increased in number too.
The Las Vegas Valley in Nevada saw the biggest gains amongst all the metropolitan regions in the US for over-65 populations. These new influx of residents were moving into suburbs like Henderson which now boasts of four retirement communities, eight golf courses and a senior centre. The seniors like the surrounding desert hill country, not really the Strip. The younger people who visit the elderly and cater to their needs find vacation rentals nearer the strip though.
